The need for a move towards the integration of building systems is based on the fact that it is common for consultants to specify building-services equipment from many different suppliers.
One reason for this is that it is very uncommon for any one supplier to produce the best fire, security, lighting system and control, HVAC and energy management systems all within the same product range as such management of the operations for the disparate system becomes complex, with too many systems to learn, complex trouble shooting, higher capital and operational expenditures.
The Building Management System (BMS) helps to automate and take control of these operations in the most efficient way possible for the occupiers/business, within the constraints of the installed plants and equipments.
